Embracing the Holiday Rush

Welcome to the holidays. The lights, the parties, the shopping… in no time at all, the full holiday spirit will be upon us.

I was thinking about this while talking with some friends the other day. The holidays are one of my favorite times of the year. I love spending time with the people in my life that I treasure most, and taking the time to slow down and really be with them. I love having my clients come in for their treatments, sharing their holiday traditions, and helping them prepare for their favorite holiday parties and events. I love the snow and the crowds, the music, and the lights.

And then there’s the part of me that is human.

Sometimes during the holidays, I feel a little stressed. Between running Angela Lutz Aesthetics and Arch Addicts, being a wife and a mom, a sister and an aunt, and a daughter… there are days during the holidays where everything piles up. Some days, if I’m going to be honest with you, I feel a little stretched thin and it’s hard to show up everywhere as my best self.

Mind you, I’m not complaining. Between my family, my friends, and two businesses, I’m blessed beyond anything I could ask for. Having to run to the mall to grab one more gift or a bottle of wine for a party are first-world problems. The stress that comes with the holidays is not life or death – many people have it much tougher than I do.

My reason for sharing this is two-fold. First, I want to take this chance to remind each of you that if the holidays make you feel a little overwhelmed, you’re normal. We’re all in the same boat together. Second, and maybe the most important thing I can share, is to challenge you to do something over the coming holidays that helps you keep things in perspective. Ring a bell, serve a meal, shop for someone not quite as blessed as you are. Find a way to serve or give something of yourself, and by doing that, take some time to think about all you have to be thankful for.

Perspective is everything… I am so very grateful for EVERY SINGLE CLIENT who supports me and my business. You all make an amazing difference in my life and are a true blessing.
